Our made-to-measure process

We guide you through taking more than 30 measurements during a video call.

We make an initial, made-to-measure black fitting suit for you to keep. Break in this CE AAA-certified suit by riding in it so you can assess the fit.

We review your fit and the adjustments needed during a second video call.

We make your final suit using your approved design and adjusted measurements.
Time to complete your order:
You have 6 months for promotional orders and 12 months for other orders to complete the fitting and design process, under the terms of your order.

How it works
AIRBAG PROTECTION
Airbag-ready
All MATT RACING customizable leather products are compatible with the leading airbags on the market that use In&Motion or Alpinestars Tech-Air technologies.
- You already have an airbag
The cut, extra room, and expansion panels are tailored to your airbag vest.
As part of the made-to-measure process, if you already own an airbag, you will be asked to wear it during the video call measurement session. The initial fitting suit will then be crafted with the necessary volume to ensure proper deployment.
A premium second skin
The different leathers available for your suit
Kangaroo leather is thinner, lighter, and more supple than cowhide, with even more vibrant colors. Depending on the size, it can reduce the weight of a suit by up to 3 kg or more.
Thanks to our strategic leather and Kevlar reinforcements, it offers an excellent balance between lightness, comfort, and performance. In fact, it’s the top choice for many championship riders, as well as many female riders. Once you’ve tried it, it’s hard to go back: the comfort is almost like wearing pajamas.
The only downside is that its abrasion resistance is slightly lower than that of cowhide. However, this trade-off is more than offset by its many advantages in terms of lightness, flexibility, and comfort.
With our custom-fit process, your first fitting suit is still made from AAA-certified cowhide leather. Its purpose is to validate and refine your measurements before the final suit is manufactured, all while keeping costs under control.
Frequently asked questions
How long do I have to complete the fitting and design process?
For orders placed during a promotional period, you have 6 months to complete the process. For orders placed outside a promotional period, you have 12 months. We must receive and approve your measurements and design within that time. If the deadline passes, you can continue, but your order price will be adjusted to the current non-promotional rates.
What is the difference between cowhide and kangaroo leather?
Kangaroo leather is thinner, lighter, and more supple than cowhide. It can reduce a suit’s weight by up to 3 kg, depending on the rider’s size. It is slightly more susceptible to abrasion, but many championship riders choose it for its lightness and comfort.
How do your suit models differ?
BLACK EDITION comes in standard sizes with a fixed black design.
Sponsor logos are available as an optional extra.
ROAD MERCURY and MXRD use preset designs with your choice of colors. Sponsor logos are available as an optional extra. See each product page to compare the designs.
ROAD GP offers a fully custom design, including colors and logos.
MATT RACING brand logos cannot be moved or removed.
Do the suits include a back protector?
Yes. Each suit has a removable back protector in the lining: CE Level 1 for BLACK EDITION and fitting suits, and CE Level 2 for custom suits.
If you have a Tech-Air or In&Motion-type airbag vest with a built-in back protector, we recommend removing our back protector from its slot.
For track days, we recommend bringing a rigid back protector worn with shoulder straps or webbing, as requirements vary by organizer and track. If you use a back protector with shoulder straps, we recommend removing our back protector from its slot.
What does CE AAA certification mean?
The CE AAA standard is the highest standard for protective gear. MATT RACING is proud to be one of the first brands to achieve this standard for customizable gear.

Can I pay in installments?
You can pay in 3 or 4 installments at no additional charge, or in up to 10 installments with shared fees, through Alma or PayPal, subject to eligibility.
What if my final custom suit does not fit correctly?
The initial fitting suit helps us check your measurements and refine the fit before making your final custom suit. We strongly recommend riding in it to break in the leather and give us useful feedback.
If your final custom suit does not fit correctly, MATT RACING will cover the necessary alterations. You must contact us within 14 days of receiving it, after riding in it and breaking in the leather.
We will ask for measurements to assess the issue before arranging the adjustments.
Can my fitting suit be altered?
The fitting suit is used to check your measurements and refine the fit of your final custom suit. If you would like the fitting suit itself altered, we can provide a quote at a reduced rate.
Can my suit be altered if my measurements change?
Depending on your needs and what is technically possible, we can provide a quote at a reduced rate for alterations or a new suit with the same design. Email your request and photos to contact@matt-racing.com.
I already own a made-to-measure MATT RACING suit. Do I need another fitting suit?
If you already own a made-to-measure MATT RACING suit, the fit still works for you, and you do not want another fitting suit, you can benefit from a lower price. Contact us through the chat to discuss your options.
Can I order two identical custom suits?
Yes. If you order two identical custom suits in addition to the fitting suit, a discount applies to the second custom suit. Contact us through the chat for details.
